ROTC Offers Excellence in Education and Service

Current financial times are making many Americans consider options their parents never would have. For instance, one educational option that suffered a tremendous blow after the Vietnam War was the Reserve Officers Training Corp (US ROTC). It was originally created during the Civil War as a way to produced qualified military officers outside of West Point. In the 60s, the Vietnam War gave the military such a bad name it was actually banned at schools such as Harvard. Four decades later and the tide has turned significantly, as has so much with military education.
With the cost of a college degree rising geometrically, many students now explore their options before matriculating to a college. This includes signing up with one of the five main ROTC programs (Army, Navy, Marine, Air Force and Coast Guard).
Many schools offer the Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) program. Harvard has even reinstated its program. This is due to the increased popularity of the military since Desert Storm and especially after the World Trade Center. It also doesn't hurt that students in the ROTC can receive a full-tuition scholarship, as well as stipends for books and living expenses that may increase on an annual basis. True, after graduation the students become full officers in the army for a number of years, but in these economic times, that is also being seen as a bonus.
After all, these students will have guaranteed job security after they graduate, even if it means getting up at reveille. Further, while in the military they will learn invaluable management techniques they can apply in the civilian working world. Because they are required to serve a minimum four years after graduation, recruiters look at that as an added listing in the resume, particularly if they end up working in a STEM (science, tech, engineering, math) occupation.
There is another skill many an ROTC grad has over his West Point counterpart, too. One is they don't live the cloistered live of a Cadet. Another is they develop more refined time management skills from balancing school, work and military commitments. Many times they also end up more rounded as they have the freedom to squeeze in personal hobbies.
The antipathy ROTC students faced in the 70s is also pretty much over with, too. They are treated with more respect as their dedication to serve their country is now considered a high mark by peers and employers. Also, as the ROTC has a very demanding physical program, many leave in top physical shape.
There are also those who believe ROTC grads value their education more than the average student, as they have learned firsthand about how hard work can pay off. Additionally, they will know that they are carrying out their civic duty while they work to increase their value in the workforce.
So, as said before, the financial burden that makes students postpone or forego higher education ends up being overcome in a way that benefits the nation as a whole. Military education students also avoid the stress created by student loan debt with the added bonus of hands-on training provided by ROTC programs. Abusive Relationship - Signs of a Bad Relationship With Abusive Behavior

Every Abusive Relationship has from the beginning red flags and warning signs for a bad relationship with abusive behavior. The Problem is that when we fall in love we ignore this warning sign and talk our self out by putting everything into a positive light and ignoring the facts.
I was living out my young adult years, I done great in my job; I trained my horses, went to shows and on the weekend was party time. We were wild, had fun, smoked and drank, but no drugs or stupid behavior that got you into trouble.
Suddenly everybody around my age got married and started a family. I was in my mid twenties and ready to meet the man to settle down and have kids. I meet my ex-husband and we start dating. Everyday he wanted to see me and he even showed up at my work and act to be a customer just to be around me. He wanted only to spent time with me without my friends or his. He played me by telling me things a woman loves to hear and him as the poor guy who was kick out the house when he was eighteen to join the military and sent oversea.
On day he showed up and told me that he got the notice to be ready to shipped out to "Desert Storm" in a few days. He wanted fast marry me, because I was the woman he ever dreamed about and he was afraid that he will to lose me in case he was sent back to the states. My friend, he knew him from work warned me and told me that this is my biggest mistake, but he refused to tell me why. When I question my ex-husband he just told me that my friend was messing around and his wife accept it. This was a sign of starting a bad relationship with an abusive behavior by isolating me and putting my friends against me.
When he returned from Desert Storm he play the poor guy just returning from war and needed time to adjust (in reality he never was on the front line and never saw a fight, only on TV). His family told me that he was first married to the military and than to me, so back off and leave him alone. Than he played me out against my family and they felt sorry for him. When I was pregnant he beaded me up that I was in the hospital for one week, but it was not his fault.
At that time I wanted to leave him, but than he came crawling and begging me to forgive him, he was under too much stress and just snapped. I was stupid and let him back in. Than the Circle of the abusive behavior started with sorry feeling and that it was not his fault that I was out of control and he just need to get me out of it. After that the honeymoon phase kicked in, after a short time the tension starts building up and than came the explosion and abuse, than the circle started again.
In the same time you start believing that you done something wrong, and that you can make this relationship to work. I started to avoid situation that can make him angry when he is in a bad mood, make sure everything is fine that there is no ticker moment. Than the emotional abuse which destroyed total my self-esteem and confident. He told me that looking into my face turned every men off and he felt dirty been sexual active with me. The worse thing what happen is that they know which bottom to push that makes you explosive and a sign that they have you under control.
These are the sign of a bad relationship and it never will change, because their abusive behavior is nothing else than a mirror picture how they feel inside about themselves. They are the problem and not you, and when you have kids it teaches them the wrong image about relationship and they also can become abuser. My tip, when you start dating someone and you see the red flags get out of this relationship, never ignore them and listen to your inside voice before you waist your time. You never can change a man and he never will, but you get what you see, and when it sounds too good - something is wrong big time.

Common Bladder Problems

Your bladder is a sac-like structure near the bottom of the abdomen. Its major function is act as a storage area for urine until it can be expelled. It has a waterproof skin which medical professionals call the transitional cell epithelium.
Urine comes to the bladder from the kidneys through tubes called ureters. It is eliminated through a tube leading outside the body called the urethra.
A normal adult bladder contains about 400 milliliters of urine.
As people grow older, bladder problems become more common. It can become more of a challenge to control the bladder. This sometimes results in a condition known as incontinence. Incontinence can also happen when there is a disease or some other problem. There are many different bladder control products available commercially that help people who suffer from incontinence.
Other Common Bladder Problems
Bladder Cancer - There are several kinds of bladder cancer. The kind that happens most often originates in the lining of the cells inside of the bladder. This type is called urothelial cell carcinoma (UCC) or transitional cell carcinoma (TCC).
Bladder infection - This is a bacterial infection that can happen in any part of the urinary tract. Although a bladder infection can be very uncomfortable, it's fairly easy to treat and can be cured quickly if treated properly.
Overactive bladder - This is a condition that results from a sudden, involuntary contraction of the muscle in the wall of the urinary bladder. Overactive bladder triggers an urgent and unstoppable need to urinate. OA is also known as urge incontinence and is a type of urinary incontinence or unintentional loss of urine.
Bladder Stones - Bladder stones are crystalline masses that originate from minerals and proteins which naturally occur in urine. They are much less common than kidney stones.
Bladder Spasms - A bladder spasm may also be called bladder instability. Under normal circumstances bladder muscles are relaxed and only go into action when you urinate. But when the bladder is unstable, it sometimes contracts suddenly and unexpectedly. This contraction is commonly known as a bladder spasm.
Bladder Prolapse - Also called cystoceles. It is more often called a fallen bladder or prolapsed bladder. It happens in women when the front wall of the vagina, which supports the bladder, weakens or loosens. The bladder may then start to slip into the vagina. There are four different stages, but the basic result can be urinary difficulties, discomfort, and stress incontinence (which is urine leakage caused by sneezing, coughing, exertion, or some other physical condition).
Enuresis (more commonly called bed wetting) - Enuresis is, simply put, involuntary urination, usually during sleep. This is more common in children and usually doesn't occur as the child gets older. However, repeated enuresis can be a sign or symptom other physical or emotional problems.
Paruresis - Paruresis is a condition that is also called shy bladder, shy kidney, or bashful bladder. Both genders can suffer from paruresis, which is a type of social anxiety disorder in which the sufferer is unable to urinate when others are within earshot, typically somewhere like a public restroom.
